I'm a bit too young to remember Steve McQueen from the actual Steve McQueen days. I can't even say I've seen many of his movies now. But it's interesting how some actors transcend time due to early death. Do you think Heath Ledger will one day have songs sung about him?

Have a great weekend!

Sheryl Crow is going to be collaborating with Fleetwood Mac soon, or so it is rumored.

Or Rumoured, I suppose.

I was just reminded last night of my favorite McQueen quote: "Racing is LIFE..everything before and after is simply waiting" Steve McQueen

Coincidentally, we just ran a story on the front page of our 'Wheels' section in our paper on the Bullitt Mustang and its limited production. Two thumbs up for Steve McQueen!

Janet: Good to hear from you! To answer your question, no I do not. Steve was as the book says "A throwaway kid who lived through the school of hard knocks and fought his way to the top as the world's #1 box office star by the late 1960's. You have to remember that he came out of an era of Paul Newman, Suzanne Pleshette (who passed away a few weeks ago), Rock Hudson and Charles Bronson. He was young when "sex drugs and rock and roll" hit the US. It was a time when actors were differentiated from one another. Today, I think Keith lived in a day when popularity spanned several years. Steve made 30 movies over his life and in Asia he is revered and mourned as the American anti-hero he played on stage and in life. He did it all! Hope you can join us!

GW: I love me some Sheryl Crow! :)

Seamus: Ah, yes,,,from "LeMans". Boy was the filming environment around that movie a story in itself. There is a book dedicated to just that one movie. No one payed much attention to it, bt it was Steve's dream since the days of "The Sand Pebbles". I loved it!

Carolyn: I once had an Aunt who when she kissed you on the cheek, the whole side of your face was wet! (lol Daisy). I better visit Ginger too. She's also a cutie. But that photo of Daisy you have posted just makes me smile from ear to ear. How precious! HAPPY EASTER CAROLYN!

Martini: Like Steve, one of my hobbies is collecting 1/18 die cast automobile models. It took me 3 hours on the internet but I now have Johns DMC 12 parked next to a yellow 2002 Acura NSX which he owned until his death. At only 7,000 units, "Bullitt" must be sold out. I'll try to get over to the Ford dealer and test drive one today! THUMBS UP!!!!:)

I like the Sheryl Crow song--will have to watch the video. The Sharon Tate (wasn't she one of the ones killed by the Manson gang?) that photo must of been right before it.

Sage: This was a very rare photo I've located. Roman was in London finishing work on "Rosemary's Baby" and was shuttling back and forth from L.A. to England. According to Neile, Steve's wife of 15 years in her book "My Husband, My Friend", Steve was invited to Roman and Sharon's rented home on 10500 Cielo Drive the evening of the slayings, but was "sidelined" by a tryst with another woman. Steve and Neile avoided Sharon's funeral but attended the service of Steve's close friend and hair stylist Jay Sebring. Steve wore a gun to the service. It was a senseless slaughter of innocent people that forever changed Los Angeles and shook the world.

Minnestota Blue: Hey, Thanks! I really hope you enjoy our line up this year. We omit 6 pictures from the last two years an ad some unseen movies just released. :)

Glenn: I always enjoy your Blog subjects and ALWAYS come away learning something news. Yes, it's a menagerie of fun over here at my place and I'm quite happy in my new home in Arizona! HAPPY EASTER, GLENN!

I agree with Janet“s comment, absolutely!...
I love the pic you post about the movie American Rebel, so great!
About the photo with Sharon Tate and her husband by that time...I remembered that my mom told me about how Sharon Tate died..was really horrible!! auchhh:(...

Maria: I know this may speak badly of me to some, but I hope the recent news about the discovery of more Manson killings will finally lead to the death penalty. What they did to Sharon is absolutely unforgivable and the nation was and is outraged to this day. It was a senseless and brutal two nights of murder by sick people. Sharon Tate was by all accounts I have read, a sweet, shy and beautiful person inside and out.So heartbreaking!
