TV THEME SONG WEEK WRAP UP: MUSIC WITHOUT WORDS!

This show is unforgettable for me. A perfect cast and emotional undercurrents that stayed with you.

A crush as a kid on Peggy Lipton led me to pick this one! I have her biography to read as well.

Linda Evans co-starred with Steve McQueen in his second-to-last film, "Tom Horn".

Riding bikes side by side in the center lane? A little "bwa-ha-ha"! Not in Arizona anyway. Eric Estrada today laughs at himself, which is a good thing! I laugh at myself too!

"St. Elsewhere". The beautiful and haunting theme written by Dave Grusin fit like a glove with this well acted series about underdogs in a South Boston Hospital. A favorite of my late Cousin, so I included it. Nice memories. She liked Howie Mandell's work in this series.

Jack Lord spinning around and staring into the camera! That was "cool" in the 70's. Jack was a personal friend of Elvis Presley, and if you get a copy of the unedited 1973 "Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite Concert" CD, Elvis mentions that Jack Lord is in the audience.

Of course, I had to include this for Monkee Fans!

Ah, yes. Marilu Henner! What?... You thought I tuned in for Judd Hirsch?

Born John Elroy Sanford, Redd Foxx took the name "Fred Sanford" from his late brother. Today, Demond Wilson is a minister.

It is impossible to imagine anyone else BUT Tony Randall and Jack Klugman in these roles. My Florida broadcasting buddy Doug Miles interviewed Jack on his radio show!

Neat Post Michael.

I liked the theme song for the Saint and the Persuaders and Thunderbirds.

And Jonny Quest had a great theme song too.

I hope you have a great weekend.

dianne: The late Michael Conrad was fantastic. "Hey.....Hey! "Let's be particularly careful out there". When Robert Prosky took over on the show after Michael's unfortunate death from cancer, that role call had the entire crew fighting back in tears on camera.

So Bochco was pioneering for having real life subjects dealt with. Daniel J. Travanti is a recovering alcoholic and so he had that written into his character.

One of the most important shows in television history. I get quite emotional just seeing this opener as well, if that's any consolation. But hey. I'm also a Bulgarian. I blame it on that. :D) (...and the fact I wasn't old enough to snag Veronica Hammel. She is still gorgeous today!). lol dianne!!!!:)

Glenn: Now you're giving me new ideas! :) See ya shortly.

I loved the St. Elsewhere theme. I didn’t watch that show, but, in listening to it just now, it sounds like Mannheim Steamroller could have written it. One of my favorite shows (1966 – 1971) also had my absolute favorite instrumental theme song. The show was Dark Shadows. I was a young 13 years old and immediately fell head over heels in love with Quentin (David Selby) The theme song, “Shadows of the Night - “Quentin’s Theme” was hauntingly beautiful. It is still me favorite. http://youtube.com/watch?v=2jBkKFBf0rY

If there are no words, I make up my own words, using whatever is in my head at the time. The funny thing is I don't listen to the words half the time anyway. I think it's like some people tap their feet to the music without being conscious of it.

Oh my does this bring a lot of good memories back from those good tv shows! I loved St. Elsewhere. I think I saw Eric Estrada on some reality show..I hate those kind of shows..yet he was rather interesting in what I caught him saying before I switched the channel. He's still cute.:)Peggy Lipton I always thought a natural beauty..and she stil is..takes good care of herself.

By the way Michael did you ever see "Love with the proper stranger" with Steve McQueen and Natalie Wood? That was such a favorite of mine I bought the vhs tape of it years ago and watch it from time to time. I thought it not being an action type film showed Steve McQueens true acting abilities from an emotional level.

Blessings,

Rhiannon
