BLOG VISITS & SCHEDULE DEMANDS!

Good Morning!

I'd like to wish all of you a nice weekend.

My strength training has really required a significant commitment of time so that I can optimize my long-term physical conditioning. This has been a top priority for me. My magazine assignments are up to date with one article "in the can" for a future issue of Airways and another in the research stage. Time spent playing my guitar has a been great comfort to me, although I have still not hired a teacher. I have set a goal of next Friday to accomplish this. So, I regret that I've been limited in my ability to visit each of your Blog Pages with the regularity I have enjoyed over the years.
But I am continuing to post as time permits, and I will also continue a tradition I started 4 years ago. Namely, making it a point to visit each of the sites on my Blogroll from A through L Blogs one day, then L through Z Blogs on another day. I appreciate your patience and I look forward to my catch-up visits this weekend. All of this scheduling has involved having a look at what others are doing.

Over the past few weeks, I've run into two girls who have been news anchors here in Phoenix, and it's been enjoyable to share and exchange information about our differing career paths. One of my colleagues is a former Miss America finalist who is a new mom. She has remained involved in the industry part-time with voice-over work, print modeling and television commercials. My other colleague hosts a monthly television variety feature as a teacher; none of us are currently involved with hard news. Career transitions in and of themselves is fascinating to me. As a Contributing Editor with Airways magazine it's always very interesting to watch guys stepping down as airline CEO's to accept posts with aviation industry-related organizations.

Two musician friends of mine are concert promoters and tour coordinators who have worked worldwide with major rock artists. But they began as musicians and still set aside time to play. All of which leads me to conclude that navigating the world of change requires an open mind to continue to be true to our passions. See you soon!

Hi, Michael! Love the picture! :o)

Real life should always trump blogging, in my opinion. If you're not out living life, where do you get your blog fodder? Plus, as much as I love blogging, it's still a fun hobby, not real life.

My passions these days? Blogging and Emmy, and home cooking, of course. ;o)

Have a great weekend, Michael!

Love and hugs,

Diane

History has always been my passion. That's why I love teaching history. World History in particular is always a joy.

Green Tea: Thanks! I agree that the world is crazy. My approach is to take it one person at a time, one day at a time to try and make a difference. As Bruce Springsteen said: "You can't save the world. But ya gotta try". lol!!!:)

p m: And I've been lucky to have had history teachers who brought the subject to life in a fascinating way with films in class, discussion and even film strips!
