ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL MONDAY!

Good Morning! It was a hectic weekend. On Saturday night, I returned home with sack of groceries and heard water dripping in my bathroom. It quickly became worse until a pipe burst in the wall. I phoned the emergency maintenance people and they were useless. Two hours and 14 minutes later I had the bright idea to call the Fire Department (not one of my better nights) and they managed to secure the flood waters. The on-call guy in my apartment complex was in Sedona, Arizona with his wife and kids and couldn't pick up my 6 urgent calls (cell phone signals are terrible in Sedona). So, the water extraction guy came in and ran wires three stories up to my flat then hooked up a blower. Top floors have their advantages unless you have an emergency. Today, while I'm away at work, I'm supposed to get new carpet padding, new baseboards and a carpet shampoo.
-
Sunday, I ran errands, played a Fender Retro 1952' Telecaster with the Seymour Duncan hot rodded pickups, drove to Radio Shack to buy a replacement fuse for my practice amp and became sidetracked shredding 5 garbage bags of documents from my filing cabinet which is sitting sideways in my foyer (post flood). I'm posting this You Tube because its fun and I want to start you off on a cool Monday! So this is for Patti & Madison, taralynn johnson, diane j., tammi, Bud Buckley, d-man and especially Seraphine...because she's wearing cool Ramones sneakers in her Blog post today! Plus kids are going back to school and when I was in high school, this video is pretty much what I looked like in detention hall after school--which may explain why the high school counselor put her head down on her desk and cracked up laughing when I told her I was going to college. You may recall that she told me (after she recovered from the drama) that "With these grades, I seriously doubt it". Yeah...I mailed her an invitation to my Cap & Gown ceremony 9 years ago and graduated at the top of my class! Don't let anyone discourage you from your goals. Okay, let's rock!...

I much prefer "Rock N Roll High School" to High School Musical! Rock on, dudes and dudettes!

I don't even want to think about burst pipes and flooding. Sorry you're having to deal with it, and I don't envy your neighbors on the floors below you. Hope you get it all sorted out, dried out and back in order soon, Michael.

Rock on!

Oh, and YES, I'm a disco queen and anything from the 70's and 80's queen. ;o)

Happy new week!

Diane

That sounds like a big mess! but the good news is you will have nice clean carpet when it's all over!

I don't know about the Ramones Michael. Is there a face under all that hair?

Aloha my dear Michael. Thank you for stopping by. Yes, I don't blog as often as I used to. I've been busy with the grandkids and enjoying the gorgeous sunshine and water here. I'm glad you love the calendar. I will make sure to send you another one for 2009 :).

Take care and much aloha to you.

Diane: A new week it is! :D

fleur de lisa: They claimed the carpet was cleaned and new padding was installed. I'll be running a vacuum cleaner tonight to pick up carpet shreds. I'm still having the carpet shampooed.

Suzanne: All in good fun!

Tutu: lol!!!!!!

Walker: Yeah, I had a lot of detention. The teacher graded papers. I drew pictures of rock bands! :D)

Sorry to hear about your flood - i know what they are like. Look on the bright side though: at least it was a pipe that burst and not a toilet or sewer backup. Can you imagine the mess if it were?

Bwaaa haaaa I love the vidoe! I will definitely be introducing Maddie to it when she is a bit older. The epitome of "cool".

Hah you fooled that guidance counselor didn't you?

So sorry about the pipe/water problem. That is really an inconvenience and a MESS. Ugh! You were a good sport about it though.

Martini: Like a dope, I sat up late last night to watch the 4 part Hollywood Insider on You Tube on John DeLorean! It's no coincidence you stopped by today. Man, I didn't realize just how rare the DMC 12 is! Hope you keep her garaged and covered! I still want my ride!!!

Patti: lol! I wasn't a freak or anything like that. Just a prankster! :D) I wish I had saved all those drawings. I cold publish a book counter to Pamela Barnes and call it "I Wasn't in the Band"! :D))

Oh wait, Patti: Make that DeBarnes...

I'm sorry to hear about your flood. Glad you called the fire department... I think that guy "on call" sure had the better deal being in Sedona though!! One of the most beautiful places on earth!

Hope you didn't have any damage due to the water leak.

Sorry, I re-read your post, you did have lots of water damage... hope everything is getting repaired, fixed and smells, feels and looks all brand-new!!

Thanks man. Makes me want to go back to high school. :D

Damn about the water damage. We had a leak in our bedroom on the weekend, but then we did have horizontal rain...

jean luc-picard: I was about to inflate my raft but alas, the floor in the Loo is finally dry.

Kelly: If only I had the power to manage Hurricanes as intensely as I have managed this flooding, there would have been no delays! :D Smells, feels and looks okay, but I'm still having the carpet shampooers in so I don't have to wage wars with parasites! ;)

jean-luc-picard: Indeed, my friend! One week later and I'm still addressing this crap. Ooops, a Freudian slip! :D))!!!!!!
